January 2023

Professional Goals for 2023

On my desk, there is a stack of index cards. These past two months, I took an intentional break from creating Sensory Gated Art. During that time, I reflected back on the year, made progress towards my current children’s picture book deadline, and developed hard goals for my genre for 2023. Whenever a goal or idea came to fruition in my mind, I grabbed an index card, wrote “2023” on one side and the goal and strategy on the back. Each card representing a goal, I now have a stack filled with objectives. Now, you can sit back and watch to see if I accomplish these goals! Most of all, I hope you discover Sensory Gated Art as a benefit to your mind and world.

Goals and how they fit into my day-to-day life

Every day, I have a flow chart of priorities and I must start at the top and work my way down. Every day, it starts over. These priorities must be in this order or something won’t work. Self (healthy and functional), Family (husband and two phenomenal neurodivergent children), Purpose (helping others, creating).

Knowing those must happen daily and, in that order, I am comfortable with my intentions to head towards these index card goals. Ready?

Read all the way through to the end for the goal I am MOST excited about.
