"Blue Ridge Mountain Summer" the original

Artist’s Comments:

“June of 2020 holds my favorite memory and time of the pandemic year. We went to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina for a short getaway. I brought my painting supplies with me, suspicious that the setting would flood me with inspiration. My suspicions were correct. I mixed and applied the acrylic colors and base right on site.

It was irresistible. The application quality is telltale compared to all my other pieces because of its organic flaws from painting outside in the elements. It was early Summer, and the air was quite chilly. It was also damp, and the mist was heavy, making the glimpses of the vista even more valuable in the fleeting moments of visibility. The brush strokes are spontaneous and applied in a hurried frenzy. These ‘imperfections’ will not be ‘corrected’ because they capture that exact, spectacular moment in time.
