"Gil says hello", the original

Artist’s Comments:

“I have been silently entertained by the possibility that many people think that I have completely abandoned my style of painting for “Gil says hello”. Believe it or not, this painting doesn’t break a single rule of my Sensory Gated Art style. Those rules are: All non-living things/subjects are composed of only straight lines or consistent curves. All colors are kept separate by clean lines - no shading or blending. Only living things/subjects are composed of organic shaped lines - as in “Vermeer’s girl with a pearl earring”, as in “Hendrick’s Lawdy Mama”, as in “Martin Luther King Jr”. Gil and the plants are living things so they warrant organic lines. And the fish bowl? Look very closely. Every line is straight and every curve is consistent.”
